Cyber Forensics
Cyber crime is when illegal activities are committed through the use of a computer and the Internet. Analysis of a cyber crime involves cyber forensics to determine if the compromised system involved a malicious attack through an email, penetration to your network by way of a malicious agent, or by some other means. For example, hate crimes, telemarketing and Internet fraud, identity theft, and credit card account thefts are considered to be cyber crimes. Cyber forensics includes the process of extracting information and data from computer storage media and guaranteeing its accuracy and reliability. The challenge lies in finding, collecting and preserving data in a defensible state, while also presenting it in a manner that can be used by the lead attorney and easily understood by the judge and jury.
